This project is great for displaying family pictures or to give as a gift. Because it’s so simple it makes a good last minute gift.
Materials: twigs
Flat surface picture frame
Glue gun
Pruning shears or clippers
Step 1.
Snip twigs into pieces just long enough to cover the surface of your frame.
Step 2.
Apply hot glue to small sections of frame and begin placing twigs making sure they fit snugly against each other.
Step 3.
Turn frame and begin applying twigs to the top of frame placing them in the opposite direction as shown in photo.
Step 4.
Turn again and place twigs in the opposite direction for third side of frame.
Repeat this step on the remaining side until the entire surface is covered.

Hi! I like the way the frame is made. It gives it a whole different look and also gives me an idea that I’ll try out soon. Thanks for the input! Laney

How do I preserve the twigs to have a lasting memory?
Reis,
Unless your planning on hanging/placing the twig frame somewhere where it may come in contact with extreme moisture or other outside elements I don’t think it’s necessary to add anything to the twigs. However, if you want to go the extra mile I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t brush or spray on a wood preservative/weather proofer. Thompsons makes a spray can of weather proofer they sell at Wal-Mart for something like $6. Of course take out the glass and other surfaces before you apply it. Or you could apply it and let it dry before you glue the twigs onto the frame. Hope this helps. Thanks for visiting Not2Crafty.com
