Hearts on a string. A valentines day project.

I made this project to compliment the hearts in a frame.  This is another quick and easy project that looks great as a valentines day decoration.

Materials:

  • wooden hearts
  • scrapbook paper
  • glue
  • twine

Step 1. Trace hearts onto the papers you have chosen.  I like  paper that has a patchwork look because itÂ

gives you numerous patterns for the price of one piece of paper.Â

Step 2.  Glue paper hearts onto the wooden hearts.  I mix a little bit of water to white glue and apply it with a brush so that the paper goes on smoothly.

Step 3.  After the glue is completely dry drill a hole in each heart.  If you don’t have a drill you can glue the cords to the heart but you’ll have to put it on pretty thick and give it plenty of time to dry.

Step 4.  Cut two pieces of twine in equal lengths.  Tie them together by tying a knot near the top as shown in picture. Â

Step 5.  Tie the hearts onto the cords at staggered lengths. Â

About Elaine Kazinec

I have never met anyone who can't make wonderful things for their homes, friends, and family, only those who think they can't. The purpose of this blog is to show everyone how really simple most projects for the home are to make. When my husband and I bought our first home we were short on cash so I learned to be long on creativity. I have been told that I can make something wonderful out of nothing and that is true. You can too! Some of my favorite things are items that I found in someone's junk pile. I am going to show you how easy it really is. I hope you find the courage to jump in and attempt some of these projects. You will be amazed at how talented you really are.
