This candy garland is made from poster board and tissue paper and strung on a piece of lightweight rope. This is a very fast and easy project that looks really great for Halloween.
Materials:
- tissue paper in different color
- poster board
- stapler
- ribbon
- light weight rope
Step 1.
Cut out pieces of poster board that are the size of a piece of computer paper. Roll them up and staple as shown.
Step 2.
Take a piece of tissue paper and fold it in half. If you use dark poster board you may need 2 sheets. The tissue paper folded in half is just the right size if you use a piece of computer paper for your pattern. Lay the tissue paper on the table and then string the rope through your poster board piece as shown. Lay it on the tissue paper and tape it in place. Roll the tissue paper around the poster board and twist the ends and tie it with ribbon.
Step 3.
The internet is a great source for free clip art and pictures. I found some and saved them to my computer. Then I printed them up in wallet size and cut them out.
Step 4.
I wanted wording on mine so I typed up “Black Cat Candy” on mine using Microsoft word. Cut them up in strips and set aside.
Step 5.
Cut out pieces of construction paper that are smaller than the piece of computer paper. You will want the tissue paper to show on both sides. Glue the pictures and the wording onto the center of the black paper as shown. Then wrap them around the candy pieces and tape or glue into place.
